The kingdom of Bhutan, known as “The Land of the Thunder Dragon”, is nestling in the Himalayas. It is unique and fascinating in many ways, the tourists long to learn closely guarded culture and traditions and have rest in well-conserved pristine natural environment. It goes without saying that you will find Bhutan very different from any other country you have visited. The devotion to the national culture is reflected in the fact that all people in villages as well as in cities still wear their traditional dresses. Even TV and the Internet have not managed to change the way of life of the locals. Where else on earth can you see the bright red chili peppers decorate the rooftops of wooden farmhouses and ancient fortress monasteries, where is buying cigarettes illegal, where is the rice red? Only in Bhutan. Although tourism in the country is closely regulated and rather expensive in comparison with other areas of South Asia, but these days it is becoming easier to visit Bhutan.
